Moss is a unique natural product; in forests it stores and filters water and is an essential part of an intact ecosystem. Its intense colour, appearance and softness of touch make this material interesting for interior design, shopfitting and commercial premises.

Natural surface in three shades of green 

To enable craftsmen to use moss in private or commercial furniture, Ostermann has decided to add the new natural surface 'Moss' to its range. The natural material is available in three different shades of green and is attached to a flexible 580x380 mm panel. These innovative moss panels possess special natural properties, are sound-absorbent by up to 60 per cent and regulate room humidity. They can be easily attached to furniture, walls or ceilings and, thanks to their flexibility, can also be used in shop and exhibition design. On request, the company can also send original samples.

100% natural moss

The moss used for these panels is harvested using gentle methods, with full respect for the environment and sustainability. The product retains a beautiful and intense colour thanks to its finishing with UV-resistant cosmetic dyes. The entire process from harvesting through treatment to the finished product is carried out completely by hand. The moss thus prepared and applied to the flexible substrate requires no water and no further maintenance. It is therefore hygienic and antibacterial and can also be used in the catering industry. To prevent the moss from drying out, the ambient humidity should be between 40 and 70%.

Easy to process panels 

The flexible moss-covered panels are supplied by Ostermann reliably and quickly, individually packed in cartons. They are easy to work: they can be cut with scissors or a box cutter and optionally secured with staples or screws. The surface area of the moss can be extended as desired by joining several panels. The combination of different colours on one object offers further creative possibilities. 

The cutter for cutting the moss panels and the corresponding replacement blades can also be ordered directly from Ostermann. The cutter with locking button is equipped with a particularly sharp and stable blade made exclusively of SK-120 premium steel. A unique multi-stage sharpening technique is used for production.
