- Companies: strategies and future
Italian excellence in the aluminum sector for the furniture industry, an example of innovation and quality, Ossicolor has been investing for years with determination and passion in advanced plants and technologies, in new products and systems, always with great attention to sustainability.
Manuel Cecchele, owner of Ossicolor together with Roberto Masciocchi, talks about innovation, investments in new plants, customization, circular economy and the important goals the company intends to achieve in 2026.
Materials, increasingly sustainable, intelligent and high-performing, have become a central theme in design. How are your innovation strategies expressed?
For Ossicolor innovation is an ongoing journey, starting from a deep understanding of aluminum and its extraordinary potential applied to the world of furniture, a sector that requires technical precision, durability, aesthetics and customization.
In recent years we have invested in advanced plants and technologies to expand our clients' design freedoms: from water-based liquid painting, which gives us infinite color possibilities, to automated production processes that ensure reduced tolerances and consistent quality. This evolution allows us to focus on increasingly high-performing finishes, more stable processes and a growing aesthetic engineering.
At the same time we constantly develop new products and systems, collaborating with established designers and our in-house design team. The result is technical solutions that become true aesthetic language elements in kitchens and contemporary furnishings.
Although components are hidden elements, they now play a fundamental role in projects from both an aesthetic and functional point of view. Which of your new products best express these characteristics?
In the world of modern kitchens, and more generally furniture, the hidden component is no longer a mere technical support but an element that contributes to the overall perception of quality. For this reason we develop profiles and systems that combine functionality, aesthetic performance and great attention to detail.
Several of our products, such as the Aluframe structure and the Line 03 boiserie, were born precisely with this spirit: ensuring formal cleanliness, visual lightness, robustness and customization possibilities. These are fully engineered solutions, with high-precision machining and surface finishes that elevate the aesthetic standard of projects.
In collaboration with our clients, we are also working on more integrated, modular and flexible components, capable of interacting with different materials such as glass, wood or composites, while retaining the solidity and beauty of aluminum.

Responsible innovation is increasingly expressed through the use of recycled and recyclable materials or through green technologies and production processes that reduce environmental impact. How does your company respond to this now-priority topic in corporate strategies?
We work aluminum, a material that is intrinsically sustainable because it is infinitely recyclable, lightweight, strong and durable. However, we do not limit ourselves to enhancing its natural characteristics: for years we have undertaken a structured path that involves every phase of production, from raw material sourcing to the product's end of life.
We have introduced low-impact processes such as water-based liquid painting, and invested in plants and technologies designed to reduce emissions and energy consumption. At the same time we are working on the recovery and on the valorization of machining waste, transforming it into reusable materials for other industrial sectors, and on package optimization, with growing attention to recyclable materials and waste reduction.
This vision is guided by a clear objective: to integrate circular economy as a fundamental element of future competitiveness.
How might the new European Ecodesign regulatory framework influence sustainable design processes?
The new European regulation focused on Ecodesign represents a significant step for the entire sector, as it emphasizes more durable, repairable, recyclable products that are transparent about their environmental impact.
For Ossicolor, however, this change is not unprecedented but the natural continuation of a path we embarked on some time ago.
The new rules allow us to further highlight the advantages of aluminum, a recyclable, durable material that meets the highest environmental standards, and reinforce production choices already underway, such as the use of cleaner processes, the optimization of production cycles and attention to product life cycles. For our customers, this means being able to rely on components that are safer, certifiable, aligned with future standards and ready to meet a demand increasingly attentive to environmental performance.

In an increasingly competitive market, customization is a strategic topic. Therefore, a more proactive collaboration between company and clients allows precise responses to their needs; especially in fast-growing sectors like contract, hospitality or the marine sector. How does your company address this topic?
Customization has always been one of our strengths. We do not limit ourselves to producing aluminum profiles, but we support clients in developing tailor-made solutions, designed to express the identity and style of the brand or the final project. We collaborate daily with chefs, design studios, architects, contract developers and hospitality companies, providing targeted technical support and the ability to realize even very complex ideas.
Rapid prototyping via wire EDM allows us to test and refine every detail already in the early development phases, while advanced mechanical processing and a wide range of finishes, anodizations and coatings make it possible to precisely define dimensions, colors and aesthetic characteristics. This tailored approach, much appreciated in the furniture world, enables us to respond effectively to both the Italian market and international markets.
Facing a continuously evolving scenario, how is your company preparing to respond? Will you focus on other markets, which ones?
We are well aware of the uncertainties that characterize the current economic context, but we prefer to interpret them as a drive to strengthen our adaptability. Aluminum, in particular, is a material that is growing strongly in furniture and other sectors and continues to be chosen for its durability, sustainability and aesthetic versatility.
To remain competitive we are expanding our production facilities, investing in 5.0 technologies and strengthening our presence in international markets, with particular attention to the outdoor segment, which has shown significant growth in recent years. The Aluframe, Alubox, N3 systems and the brand-new 4 Stagioni from Ossicolor respond to the growing demand for more functional, durable and customizable outdoor spaces, interpreting outdoor market trends with both a technical and aesthetic approach.
Our priority is to maintain a broad, contemporary and technically advanced offer, capable of responding quickly and with quality to markets that change ever faster.

Looking ahead, how do you expect 2026 to be and what strategies should companies in the sector adopt to manage the economic situation in a context of global instability?
2026 will likely be a year characterized by strong market selectivity, in which companies able to invest in innovation, sustainability and production flexibility will stand out. In this scenario we consider constant research on processes and products, the adoption of digitalized and automated systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs, a sustainability approach that is concrete and demonstrable, increasingly advanced customization to stand out, and fast integrated service to be essential.
For Ossicolor, 2026 will represent the achievement of another important milestone: 3600 sqm of operational space added to our Spormaggiore headquarters, a strategic expansion that will allow us to further strengthen production capacity, optimize workflows and accommodate more advanced technologies. It will be a modern, efficient and sustainable facility, designed to support the company's growth in the years to come and to better meet market needs.
We are convinced that the future will reward those who can combine aesthetics, technology and environmental responsibility in a single coherent and forward-looking vision: values in which Ossicolor is investing with determination.
