The bodies of the associations of the furnishing area of FederlegnoArredo met on September 7 at the Artwood Academy, the professional and specialized training center for the wood-furnishing supply chain, in Lentate sul Seveso (MB), to renew their leadership for the 2026 -2030 four-year term.
The new presidents of Assarredo, Assobagno, Assufficio, Assotende, Assoluce and Asal-Assoallestimenti
Denise Archiutti (Veneta Cucine Spa) was elected to the presidency of Assarredo , taking over from Maria Porro. Mattia Fiorindo (FIMA Carlo Frattini Spa) is the new president of Assobagno, after the term of Elia Vismara. Nicola Franceschi (Ares line Spa) assumes the presidency of Assufficio, succeeding Gianfranco Marinelli. Marco Fogarolo (Fogarolo Allestimenti Srl) has been confirmed at the head of Asal-Assoallestimenti. Paolo Montanaro (MV Line Spa) assumes the presidency of Assotende, taking over from Gianfranco Bellin. Carlo Urbinati (Foscarini Spa) was elected to a second term as president of Assoluce.

Associations called to face a complex market
The renewal of the presidencies of the furnishing area follows that of the wood area, concluded before the summer break, among which we note the confirmation of Paolo Fantoni also for the 2026-2030 four-year term as president of Assopannelli. This completes the picture of FederlegnoArredo's new associative governance ahead of the next Presidential mandate.
The six associations represent different but closely interconnected segments of the Italian furnishing supply chain, which continues to face a phase marked by an uncertain international context, yet feels the need to keep investing in innovation, new markets and commercial development.
Furnishing market 2026: the macro-system shows a decline
With a value of over €27.7 billion in 2025, the furnishing macro-system (MSA) represents an excellence of Made in Italy, thanks to its strong international vocation. Production destined for the domestic market is worth €13.5 billion, while exports, at €14.2 billion, continue to represent more than half of the total value.
Data from the January-June 2026 Monitor of the FederlegnoArredo Study Center show that in the first half of 2026 the MSA recorded a decline of 2.3%, mainly due to the drop in exports (-4.2%), while domestic market sales remained substantially stable (-0.2%). The furnishing system records -3.2%, bathroom furnishings -0.9% and lighting -4.8%. Positive signs instead for the office system (+1.1%) and for curtains and solar shading (+1.7%).
Furnishing supply chain: companies' prospects and strategies for 2026
Expectations for the year's close are by no means optimistic. 33% of companies in the furnishing supply chain believe that 2026 will close in decline, possibly sharply, compared to 2025. Among the main obstacles to growth are identified the contraction in domestic demand, the decline in exports, market uncertainty and rising costs, perceived especially by smaller companies.
Companies, however, demonstrate an admirable capacity to react to the adverse context, focusing their strategies on contract, diversification of foreign markets and product innovation.
