Piero Lissoni's research continues, as art director of Alpi, into wood species and their contemporary reinterpretation with two collections: ALPI Microline and ALPI Xilo Acacia.

Presented at Milan Design Week 2026, these collections interpret the wood through two different yet complementary approaches, shaping surfaces decorative that reveal themselves over time.

ALPI Microline Surface: material sensitivity and formal rigor

Offered in seven color variants, the surface ALPI Microline (in the opening photo) has a soft and welcoming visual character, in which the color, uniform and discreet, generates an almost indistinct texture capable of offering a sense of continuity and lightness.

The design is revealed only through a closer look, with a weave of extremely thin, almost invisible lines that cross the material with a regular rhythm, creating a surface constructed like a fabric. ALPI Microline approaches the relationship between color and design with a measured approach; each tone subtly alters the rhythm and depth, generating a delicate visual vibration.

ALPI Xilo Acacia: a surface of memory reinterpreted

ALPI Xilo Acacia is born from a common wood species rooted in collective memory. Present in our landscape for centuries, the acacia is reinterpreted by Piero Lissoni through a thermal treatment that enhances its chromatic depth and material presence. The surface takes shape in two different grain patterns, generating a dynamic yet always extremely balanced composition.

Alpi surfaces certified

The ALPI Microline decorative surfaces and ALPI Xilo Acacia are part of the ALPIlignum Collection, FSC^® 100% certified (FSC-C004666), thanks to full control over the supply chain. The Collection is also available with IMO-MED certification, the European Union directive regarding the compliance of marine equipment in terms of maritime safety. Finally, regarding fire-retardant requirements, the ALPIlignum Collection has achieved a fire performance classified as Bs1d0, providing a new level of safety and compliance with design requirements.
