Materia 2.0, la material library più completa di tutta Italia, opera nel mondo dei materials for architecture and design, unendo ricerca, progettazione, cultura, sostenibilità e innovazione. One year after the opening of its new headquarters in Milan at via Marco Polo 9, Materia 2.0 reaffirms its role as a reference point for architects, designers, and creatives.
Its methodological and visual approach involves continuous, in-depth research among companies, brands, and manufacturers operating at the intersection of craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation. The matter is no longer just a surface, but becomes a narrative element that tells the evolution of architecture and design, combining the mastery of artisanal manufacturing with the most advanced innovations in the sector.

10 years of moodboards: an immersive installation
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, Materia 2.0 celebrated “10 years of moodboards” with a special 500 m² immersive installation, an observatory on the emerging languages of design, featuring 12 moodboards, including 2 large boards of 4 m² and 10 boards of 1 m x 1 m.
“The moodboards have always been our language,” explains Fabio Pecora, founder and CEO of Materia 2.0, “they allow us to present materials not as simple products, but as expressions of companies, manufacturers, stories, and visions. With this installation we want to celebrate the journey made and remind that they are not only work tools, but true devices of thought, capable of building coherence and giving identity.”

10 years of moodboards: a photographic book
The moodboards, a hallmark of Materia 2.0, are also at the center of a photographic book of over 300 pages, the result of a decade-long research process that investigated the work of more than 500 manufacturers. A celebratory project able to collect and convey ten years of material exploration and experimentation and, at the same time, to open new perspectives on the future.
“This book,” says Silvia Spreafico, general manager of Materia 2.0, “is born from the idea of matter as essence and substance: it is a tool designed to stimulate insights, promote study, and invite designing with awareness, beyond the ordinary.”
