An author's stamp, an exhibition and a volume celebrate 80 years of activity of FederlegnoArredo: they are the recognition by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) of a key sector of Made in Italy.
The prestigious Palazzo Piacentini, seat of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, hosted on September 17 the unveiling of the designer stamp, designed by the master of Italian graphic design Mauro Bubbico, and the inauguration of the exhibition “FederlegnoArredo 80° | 1945-2025”, curated by Beppe Finessi, installed in the main atrium.

The event, chaired by the Undersecretary of State responsible for philately, Fausta Bergamotto, saw the participation of the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, who stated: “Our civilization has always been based on the person; that is why among the driving sectors of our economy are those concerning clothing, food, personal care and furnishing. The Italian way of life in a context that values the environment and knowledge. This day celebrates an Italian excellence like FederlegnoArredo on an important occasion such as the eightieth anniversary of its foundation.”
Claudio Feltrin, president of FederlegnoArredo, emphasized the value of the initiative as a sign of institutional and cultural recognition: “The stamp, the exhibition and the volume we present today represent for us much more than a symbolic tribute: they are a tangible sign by the institutions of the value of our supply chain, which after 80 years has come to represent over 64,000 companies and almost 300,000 employees. We have built an industrial, creative and cultural system that has become one of the symbols of Italian identity in the world.”
The sector's founding values in a designer stamp
Signed by Mauro Bubbico, one of Italy’s most appreciated graphic designers, with the collaboration of Sketchin and Nerdo Studio, the designer stamp depicts three archetypes – an entrepreneur, a designer and a craftsman – in an essential composition dense with meaning. In their hands iconic objects: a document briefcase, a set square, a wooden prototype. The result is a representation that reflects the spirit of the wood and furniture industry, where creativity, expertise and vision merge. The issuance of the stamp by MIMIT is part of the thematic series “The excellences of the productive system and Made in Italy” and pays tribute to a sector strategic for the national economy.

The exhibition FederlegnoArredo 80° | 1945-2025
Held in the main atrium of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy until October 3, the exhibition “FederlegnoArredo 80° | 1945-2025” is a tribute to the history and identity of the sector. The artistic direction by Beppe Finessi, historian and design critic, the graphic works created by Mauro Bubbico and the exhibition project by Massimo Curzi recount the history and identity of the wood-furnishing supply chain, which has contributed to building Italy’s image in the world. A series of posters expand the visual universe of the stamp.
“FederlegnoArredo, in its 80 years of activity, has strongly contributed to our country’s economic and social development, enabling the birth, consolidation and success of Italian design,” comments Beppe Finessi. “It is a world made of skill and courage, of pride and passion, of imagination, research and experimentation.”

Tribute to industry and creativity
On this occasion, a commemorative volume was also produced titled “La filiera delle meraviglie: L’eccellenza italiana FederlegnoArredo. Stories illustrated by Mauro Bubbico”, published by Corraini edizioni. Edited by Beppe Finessi, it gathers the memory, values and vision of the Federation through contributions by art historian Elena Pontiggia and graphic designer and architect Mario Piazza. The initiative is part of the broader process launched by FederlegnoArredo for its 80th anniversary, which also includes a rebranding project developed together with Sketchin, and the launch of the new institutional website.
