Five shades from the HIMACS Terrazzo, the Solid Surface designed and produced by LX Hausys, won the Red Dot Design Award 2026 in the Product Design category. Considered internationally one of the most authoritative design competitions in the world, the Red Dot Design Award rewards products that demonstrate quality, innovation and design excellence. 

In the case of the HIMACS Terrazzo range, the recognition highlights the importance of materials capable of combining aesthetics, performance and environmental responsibility.

Materials with certified recycled content

A key factor of the awarded colors is the integration of SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled materials, derived from production and processing. Production offcuts are recovered and reintroduced into the new formulations of the material, contributing to a more circular approach to production. 

Presented on the occasion of the launch of the new colors of the HIMACS 2026 collection, the five awarded shades Terrazzo Ulivo (Q102), Terrazzo Nuvola (Q103), Terrazzo Sorrento (Q105), Terrazzo Marsala (Q106) and Terrazzo Selva (Q107) all incorporate SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled content. Terrazzo Selva (Q107), in particular, stands out for its 25% SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled content, one of the highest levels currently available within the HIMACS portfolio.
