These include the decree of 11 January 2017, signed by the Minister Gian Luca Galletti, published in the Official Gazette no. 23 (General Series) of 28/01/2017 showing an update of the Minimum Environmental Criteria regarding interior furnishings, construction and textile products. The update was necessary for the technical and commercial innovations of the market, but above all for the new discipline on public procurement.
The special provisions concerning the furnishings are listed in Annex 1 of the decree. On the supply and rental service of interior furnishings, such as office furniture, school furnishings or archives, the criteria on chemicals have been updated and others on eco-design have been included, favoring easy repair or composition and breakdown of the furnishings for their relocation to other work environments.
A separate chapter is dedicated to the rental of furniture, a practice still not very common in Italy, to encourage the reuse of existing products.
The polyurethane padding
The polyurethane padding must meet the requirements set out in Appendix II of Annex 1 of the decree. These requirements are the same as those required for the issuance of the voluntary CertiPUR trademark, the trademark owned by EUROPUR, the European Association that unites all the major industries and national associations in the sector, including AIPEF.
The CertiPUR brand certifies the safety of polyurethane padding. The creation of this brand confirms the polyurethane industry's commitment to the defense of man and the environment and adopts the best procedural criteria and scientific and technical tools to ensure the safety of its products. Only foam manufacturers certified and compliant with CertiPUR standards are authorized to use the CertiPUR logo.

The new CAMs were defined within the Management Committee of the Action Plan for the sustainability of consumption in the Public Administration sector (PAN GPP), with the presence, in addition to the Directorate General for Climate and Energy, of the Ministry of the Environment, including the competent officials of the Ministries of Development and Economy.
