MaTec-materials and technologies, the event scheduled from June 9 to 12, 2026 at FieraMilano Rho, is presented as a project that brings together wood and furniture, plastics and rubber, composite materials. Born to meet the challenges and new needs of the market, MaTec- materials and technologies brings together three events dedicated to the manufacturing industry: Plast, the international trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, organized by Promaplast, Xylexpo, the world biennial of technologies for the wood processing and furniture industry, organized by Acimall, and Composites Future, a biennial exhibition and conference for the composite materials industry, in collaboration with Assocompositi.
Plast 2026: strong international presence
Plast 2026 represents the reference platform for the presentation of plants for the processing of plastics and rubber and next-generation raw materials for the production of semi-finished and finished products.
Organized by Promaplast, the event, now in its twentieth edition, shows positive results despite the complex international geopolitical and economic scenario, characterized by trade tensions and instability in global markets. There are over 1,000 exhibitors – 44% of which are international companies – 200 of whom were not present at the previous two editions, on a surface area of more than 40,000 square meters.
Together with its three satellite shows – Rubber, 3D Plast and PlastMat – Plast represents the entire supply chain of the plastics and rubber industry, occupying six of MaTec's eight pavilions.
Rubber is dedicated to the rubber sector, from materials to processing technologies, up to industrial applications. 3D Plast explores the frontiers of 3D printing and additive technologies applied to polymers. PlastMat focuses on material innovations, a central theme for the evolution of the manufacturing industry.

Xylexpo 2026: showcasing the most current technological trends
The 29th edition of Xylexpo, the international biennial of technologies for the wood processing and furniture industry organized by Acimall, will be held in halls 14 and 18 of FieraMilano-Rho where about 150 exhibitors will occupy an exhibition area of 15 thousand square meters.
The event will make it possible to verify what the most current technological trends are, also thanks to the participation of the most important Italian and European exhibitors such as Biesse, Felder and SCM. “The presence of large groups confirms the role that Xylexpo still plays in a context, the Italian one, which is among the leading international destination markets for technologies for wood processing and the furniture industry,” commented Dario Corbetta, director of the event. “Important participations, which undoubtedly add value to the decision of many small and medium-sized enterprises to exhibit at Xylexpo.”
At Xylexpo 2026 delegations of foreign operators from over 25 countries are expected, organized thanks to Ice Agenzia. Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Mediterranean basin, the Middle and Far East, India and the Americas are the territories that currently show strong interest in the technologies for wood processing and the furniture industry.
Composites Future: the showcase for composite materials
Hall 18 of FieraMilano-Rho hosts for the first time an event dedicated to composite materials and the tools for their processing: Composites Future. Organized in collaboration with Assocompositi, the association that represents Italian companies in the supply chain, the exhibition and conference aims to be the showcase for the entire world of composites, that is to say materials and technologies for their processing. An industrial segment that grows exponentially year after year: it is estimated that in 2025 the global market for high-performance composite materials will reach a total value of over 70 billion euros. Italy is among the world's leading producers of composite materials, behind Germany, Eastern European countries and the Iberian Peninsula.
“A responsibility and a great satisfaction to finally give voice, also from an exhibition point of view, to companies linked to innovative materials,” commented Roberto Frassine, professor of Materials Science and Technology at the Politecnico di Milano and president of Assocompositi since its foundation in 2005. “Being able to share this adventure with the world of plastics and wood means framing the theme of the industry of the future in a new perspective”.
