MaTec - Materials and Technologies is the new event scheduled for June 9-12, 2026, at Fiera Milano Rho, dedicated to technologies for wood, plastics, and composite materials.

Xylexpo, the biennial world exhibition of technologies for the wood and furniture industry, will be the protagonist of this new trade fair, which was created thanks to a joint project with Plast, the exhibition of technologies for the plastics and rubber industry, with the aim of responding to the growing demand for solutions and tools that focus on multi-materiality.

This initiative is completed by the presence in the Xylexpo pavilions (pavilion 14 and pavilion 18, West Gate) of an important space reserved for Composites Future, an exhibition-conference dedicated to technologies and materials for the world of composites, sponsored by Assocompositi, the Italian association that brings together companies active in this specific industrial segment.

Creating ever stronger synergies

The three exhibitions have defined a new exhibition path between sectors, technologies, and materials that could be extended to other segments of the manufacturing industry in the future, demonstrating a common desire to respond innovatively to the changing needs of exhibitors and visitors.

Enrico Aureli, president of Xylexpo and Acimall, the association of Italian manufacturers of woodworking technology, commented on the initiative: "The next edition of Xylexpo is an important step in the process that began some time ago to create increasingly strong, concrete, and ‘attractive’ synergies for an audience of operators seeking more articulated and complex answers. The creation of the Confindustria Machinery Federation, the closer ties between associations representing manufacturers of capital goods for the wood, plastics, ceramics, and packaging industries, and the decision to chart a common course with the world of composite materials allow us to look to the future of our trade fair from a different perspective, with a view to integration and collaboration aimed at offering visitors and exhibitors an innovative context in which to learn about technologies developed in related sectors that are increasingly responding to shared needs.
