To meet these needs Elcam offers ADVA® Terra, a new generation of fibers born from the transformation of post-consumer PET-R into advanced, biodegradable polyester fibers. Fully recyclable and biodegradable in suitable environments, ADVA® Terra reduces CO₂ emissions, better preserves resources compared to some traditional bioplastics and offers high comfort.

Comfort and performance for upholstered systems

Thanks to the structure of the fiber, ADVA® Terra offers performance particularly suited to upholstery fillings, providing high volume of cushions, excellent body support and remarkable softness. These characteristics help improve the quality and durability of the cushions across various application contexts. It is also machine washable and machine-dryable.

Biodegradation up to 60% in 12 months

ADVA® Terra is made of polymeric material that can be broken down by microorganisms without producing harmful residues. According to studies carried out by ADVANSA, a leading European producer of polyester fibers, this fiber can reach biodegradation levels between 30% and 60% within 12 months, under controlled test conditions. Degradation times may vary depending on temperature, humidity and the presence of microorganisms in the soil, being comparable to those of some natural fibers.

Thanks to selected materials and state-of-the-art technologies, the fillings intended for indoor environments ensure longevity, elegance and functionality, in a perfect balance between design and superior performance. 

For the outdoor fillings, materials resistant to weather agents and technologies developed specifically for outdoor spaces are used. The collection includes water-repellent materials and quick-drying fillings, guaranteeing functionality and longevity in any weather condition.

Finally, for contract environments, Elcam has created fillings with high performance that combine materials certified, flame-retardant, high-performing and highly resistant, with innovative technologies.
