Chateau d’Ax, an Italian point of reference in the upholstered furniture sector and living room furnishings, presented, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, an interesting innovation that expands the traditional concept of comfort beyond ergonomics and materials to include the acoustic dimension.
At the heart of this innovation is Silhouette, one of the brand’s most iconic and successful models, which integrates a sound-absorbing fabric designed to help reduce reverberation in rooms.
A textile sound-absorbing system that improves quality of life
Born from collaboration with Caimi, the solution uses the patented Snowsound Fiber technology, a textile sound-absorbing system designed to control and dissipate sound energy in spaces. Composed of soft interconnected polyester fibers, recyclable and inherently flame-retardant, this fabric is designed to interact with the air and the surrounding environment, modulating sound propagation. Applied to the sofa upholstery, the system improves the acoustic comfort of domestic spaces without compromising their aesthetics, softness or design quality.

Acoustic comfort at home, in open spaces and in hotel lobbies
This innovation is particularly suited to contemporary interiors, such as open-plan living areas, lounge zones, hotel lobbies and shared workspaces, often characterized by reflective surfaces and open, multifunctional environments where sound control becomes relevant to daily comfort.
With this innovation, Chateau d’Ax redefines the role of the upholstered piece in furniture design: the sofa is no longer considered merely an aesthetic or functional element, but part of a system that contributes to improving the quality of domestic spaces, also involving the sensory dimension of living together.
