The winners of the seventh edition of the “Cristalplant® Design Contest” have been decreed, in collaboration with Antoniolupi. This year there were two categories of design for two targets of age, on the one hand the “Young Designer”, the other hand the “Senior Designer”. For each group a winner has been selected. For the senior designer category, the jury awarded the first prize to Cosetta Muggianu who has presented herself with the “Lunetta” project. It is a bath whose design was modeled on the dual function that can perform: bath or shower. The size and the sculptural form favour its free placement within environments of any size. The different curves of the profile suggest a convenient entrance and a surrounding seat. The original geometry, ovoidal, pure, is shaped, emptied, manipulated, up to hide itself to take on the profile of a shell of sinuous asymmetric design that, depending on your point of view, is reminiscent of the moon phases. A small moon, therefore, emphasized by the material and velvety whiteness of Cristalplant Biobased, the material of which “Lunetta” is made. The product will be included in the 2016 catalogue of Antoniolupi, company partner of the contest. While Leonardo Mercurio is the winner of junior designer with the Fe-Man project. The sinuous lines of Fe-Man represent the union of two different entities: the female and the male. Two complementary figures that harmonize with each other, creating a minimalist sculptural object. Free is the interpretation of the washbasin in space, depending on the point of view from which it is observed and it is positioned. The functionality of Fe-Man is expressed by the material with which it has been made: Cristalplant Biobased. It will be included in the Antoniolupi 2016 catalogue. Roberto Cicchinè and Marino Breccia, with the Metrolineare project, and Angelo Milano with Mameli, have instead received the special mention by the jury. The winning projects were presented in preview at the Salone del Mobile in Milan at the showroom of Antoniolupi, in via Porta Tenaglia. www.antoniolupi.it www.cristalplant.it
