The Italian Copper Institute (IIR) in collaboration with European Copper Institute (ECI) launched the 5th edition of the international competition “Copper and the Home.“ The award, increasingly recognized internationally, and today under the patronage of ADI - Association for Industrial Design, has achieved a huge success in previous editions, so as to have tripled the number of accessions from 2007 to present. The aim of the competition is to encourage young designers and students to experiment with new aesthetic and functional applications of copper, in order to create objects for the design of the furniture. IIR want it to show the infinite potential of the red metal in an innovative, challenging and unconventional. The competition is deliberately restricted to young, why has set a lower age limit of 40 years. It is aimed at two distinct categories: designers, architects, professionals and students enrolled at schools of graphic design, interior design, design, faculty of architecture or design, master and doctoral degrees. The deadline for submission of entries is September 30, 2014. Previous editions have shown that, thanks to the'' creative enthusiasm and remarkable spirit of innovation design, and traditional objects of common use can transform our idea of ??furniture. The competition is gearing up to collect hundreds of new ideas, curious, unusual or revolutionary: complements, lighting, vases and objects for the table and then tables, seats and interior decorations, dividing walls, floors, radiators, handles and so on. The protagonist is clearly copper, both in the pure state and in its alloys, such as bronze and brass, or blended with other different materials. The projects will be examined by a careful and qualified jury composed of three professionals in the field of architecture and design: Marco Ferreri, architect, Roberto Paoli, architect and designer Marco Romanelli and, architect and design critic. www.il-copper-nobility-the-casa.itThe Italian Copper Institute (IIR) in collaboration with European Copper Institute (ECI) launched the 5th edition of the international competition “Copper and the Home.“ The award, increasingly recognized internationally, and today under the patronage of ADI - Association for Industrial Design, has achieved a huge success in previous editions, so as to have tripled the number of accessions from 2007 to present.
