Also this year Cosentino, a Spanish company leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of architecture and design, launches the appeal for the Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC) nominations, now in its 13th edition. The aim of the competition is promoting the talent and creativity of future professionals in the sector at international level, encouraging students from all over the world to create sustainable and innovative projects.
Themes of this edition will be, in the Architecture section, “Cosentino and the water“, while in the Design category “Cosentino and the energy“. The company offers students the absolute freedom to carry out research and create proposals using one or more innovative Cosentino products: Silestone® quartz surfaces, Dekton® ultra-compact surfaces and the natural granite line with the exclusive anti- Sensa® stain.
The competition was presented at the Cosentino City Madrid in front of the company representatives, architects and designers, the specialist press and the various professors of some of the 29 schools and universities of national and international prestige who actively collaborated in this initiative. Italy was represented by the Istituto Europeo di Design Milano (IED).
Since last year, Cosentino has been collaborating with a media partner: the magazine Experimenta which, thanks to its online and offline platforms, has managed to spread the initiative well.
Students have until June 1, 2019 to send their projects through the website www.cosentinodesignchallenge.org
A jury will select the winning projects and students. For each category, the winner will receive € 1,000, to which will be added three merit awards.
During the presentation of the Cosentino Design Challenge 13, the three winners of the last edition were awarded.
