The 2019 edition of imm cologne, Internationale Möbelmesse, and LivingKitchen, the biennial exhibition dedicated to the kitchen, opened yesterday in the pavilions of the Cologne fair and will end on Sunday 20 January.
In total, around 1,300 exhibitors (70% foreigners) are presented in Cologne, up from 1,253 in 2018 as well as “made in Italy“ companies, which this year exceed 100 compared to 94 in 2018 and at 92 of the 2017 edition, a year that saw the presence of the kitchens.
Waiting for the “Salone del Mobile“ in April, in Cologne there is a constant presence of the most important Italian companies in the sector such as B&B Italia, Baxter, Cassina, Cattelan, Flexform, Giorgetti, Lapalma, Living Divani, MDF, Minotti , Molteni, Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Porada, RIVA 1920. Also there are important returns such as Knoll International, Zanotta, Lema, Edra.
Knoll International is also among the leading companies of the Bauhaus exhibition set up at the southern entrance, in the passage between pavilions 3 and 11, to celebrate the famous school of architecture, art and design that has animated the cultural climate of the beginning of the century.
Italian companies are present above all in the spaces reserved for the “top of the range“, collected under the “Pure“ label, and this year developed and expanded in “Pure Atmospheres“, staged in Halls 11.1, 11.2 and 11.3. Pavilion 11.3 also presents the “Trend Atmospheres“ exhibition, an impressive setting, enriched by a prestigious catering area, a meeting point for buyers in this specific segment.
More space has also been assigned to “Pure Editions“, in Halls 2.2, 3.2 while in Hall 3.1 an innovative concept sees the presence of important international design brands, which will set up open and walkable stands, where the product is the protagonist.
The Cologne event offers tens of thousands of visitors a wide range of furniture, lights, upholstery fabrics, with the trends and colors that will dominate next season, as well as cutting-edge projects by young designers and “smart home“ solutions. .
Altogether there are eleven pavilions in which there is room for every kind of furniture, from the most traditional furniture in the “Prime“ segment, to the upholstered furniture in the “Comfort“ segment, while in the “Sleep“ we find the night scene and in the “Smart“ furnitures in kit easy to assemble thought for a young target.
Among the focus of the event also for 2019 there is “Das Haus“, a sort of ideal home whose construction is entrusted every year to established designers of great appeal: this year the 180 square meters available to “invent“ the house of emotions has been entrusted to the Australian designers Truly Truly, from the homonymous studio in Rotterdam.
