The second edition of interzum forum italy, the event promoted by Koelnmesse Italia dedicated to the evolution of subcontracting and furniture components, will take place on June 4 and 5, 2026 at the Bergamo exhibition center. The event brings together companies, designers and international professionals, offering a broad overview of the transformations that are redefining materials, technologies and production processes in the furniture and interior design world.

Beyond the finished product
The theme chosen for the 2026 edition, “Beyond the Furniture. Towards the Future”, is an invitation to look beyond the finished product, exploring innovations that involve the entire design ecosystem: from the integration of physical components and digital tools, to the challenges of sustainability, up to the new technological applications that are changing the way spaces are designed and experienced.
With participation from companies from over 20 countries, the event offers an exhibition route rich in innovative solutions and experimentation.
Trend Stage: trends and key industry topics
An conference program structured as short, interactive smart talks will feature national and international speakers.
The two days of the fair will open with the inauguration ceremony, followed by the awarding of the interzum forum italy award 2026, a recognition dedicated to the technical aspects of furniture subcontracting aimed at highlighting the most relevant and sustainable innovations presented by companies.
Key presentations will discuss the evolution of markets and supply chains, with deep dives into sectors such as marine and shipbuilding, campers and vans, automotive, aircraft and trains, in collaboration with industry experts.

Focus on kitchens, contract, AI and ecodesign
Particular attention will be given to the kitchen, which is evolving from a simple product to an integrated domestic architecture, redefining spaces, functions and materials in fluid and continuous environments.
The marine contract will be the focus of sessions on new builds and refitting, with insights into concepts, materials and technologies for luxury cabins, while bedding will be analyzed in light of new European regulations, ecodesign and technologies for monitoring sleep quality.
Computational design and Artificial Intelligence will play a leading role in optimizing design processes, improving speed, cost management and prototyping, while Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and ecodesign will guide the design and production of more sustainable furniture. Particular emphasis will also be placed on low-environmental-impact furniture materials, such as post-consumer wood and plastic, glass, metals and agricultural and food waste, and on interior solutions for means of transport, campers and vans, yachts and superyachts, which reinterpret the aesthetics and functionality of spaces.
Smart furniture, connected and equipped with sensors and AI, will be at the center of discussions on the role of IoT in smart buildings, while office design, hotellerie and interior design for the contract sector will explore new ways of use, comfort and inclusivity.
Vision on the future of the furniture supply chain
interzum forum italy 2026 will also offer numerous international company case studies, advanced design experiences and opportunities for exchange between design studios, demonstrating how the entire sector is responding to digitalization, environmental challenges and the new needs of users and professionals.
The online ticket shop is already available on the event’s official website and allows visitors to organize their visit in advance to an event that confirms itself as a vision for the future of the furniture supply chain.
