Interzum Cologne is the point of reference for the sector of suppliers to the furniture industry. A great international showcase also for Italian companies. From 5th to 8th May the exhibitors at the fair will be more than 1,500, 5% more than in 2013. The high number of applications has necessitated the opening of a new hall - the 3.2 in the “Function & Components” sector. Italy is the largest foreign team: in May about 300 companies of Made in Italy are exhibiting in Cologne. Important results, which repay the commitment of Kölnmesse to give life to a fair that is a real, authentic, rich, exciting, convenient, effective meeting point between supply and demand. In terms of visitors, the Kölnmesse awaits, at least, to repeat the success of the previous edition, or 53 thousand operators from 148 countries. Interzum 2015 will take place from Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th May (and not from Monday to Thursday as it was in 2013) and is held a few days before Ligna, the biennial of wood and furniture technology in Hanover, which this year will take place from 11th to 15th May. Three are the major theme areas of Interzum 2015: in the halls 4.2, 5.1 and 6 “Materials & Nature“ will be staged (wood, veneers, parquet, decorative surfaces and papers, laminates, wood-based materials, minerals, edges, surface treatments ... ); in halls 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 7 and 8 “Function & Components“ (lighting, semi-finished, hardware, components, seals, locks and components); in halls 9 and 10 “Textile & Machinery“ (materials and technologies for upholstered furniture, mattresses, jackets, leather...). The absolute protagonist is innovation: in the “Innovation of interior“ piazzas there will be unusual, “smart“ materials, not very known surfaces. Here, the “4th Industrial Revolution: 3D printing“ special exhibition, organized by Dr. Sascha Peters. To this, the preparations for each theme area will be added: for “Materials & Nature“ in hall 6 and for “Textile & Machinery“ in hall 10.1, where there will be even a fully functional production line of car seats.
