The “Triennale” of Milan hosted in the Material Connexion space the CrossPollination exhibition, a project born from the collaboration between Felicerossi, a historical brand of Italian design in the field of upholstered furniture, and Poliuretano-è, a communication project for the enhancement of flexible polyurethane foam.
CrossPollination is a preview exhibition of prototypes, ahead of the entire collection to be presented at the next Furniture Exhibition 2015. The meeting of the more than sixty years of Felicerossi in the world of design and the activity of research of the companies producing flexible polyurethane foam united in the Poliuretano-è project is an opportunity to see used in a new way a series of polyurethane materials of new generation, particularly innovative in their performance level. Flexible polyurethane foam, for example, allows to absorb the heat generated by the human body and thus to avoid the heating of the seat.
CrossPollination represents a new generation of upholstered furniture and furnishing complements designed to meet the new demands of contemporary living and working: dynamic and flexible products, able to integrate in themselves many unusual features. The contemporary office is becoming a less and less sedentary and more and more a dynamic meeting place where various operational needs become entwined, from a circumscribed place that preserves privacy to a convivial open space.
The upholstered furniture of CrossPollination are characterized by a particular focus on the environmental sustainability in production processes. The goal is to create products using materials and components that can be easily disassembled at the end of their life which can be recycled to become new objects.
CrossPollination is a project that unfolds in stages: after the success of the exhibition at the “Triennale” of Milan, the exhibition continues in the Nhow hotel in Milan in Via Tortona 35 and, then, will come to the complete presentation of the entire collection at the next Furniture Exhibition 2015.
