The economic crisis is not sparing. Specifically, the market for mobile and articles for furniture, which had held in the two years the 2010/2011 reveals a sharp drop in demand. To affect this negative trend include, in addition to the economic crisis and the consequent uncertainty, lack of incentives and the complexity of the real estate market, in addition, to punish purchases of furniture contributes, there is degradation of power purchase of homes and the possibility of more and more difficult to access credit.
Although the increase in incentives for the redevelopment of the housing stock, the continuing sluggish adjustment phase of investment in construction, allows to estimate a weak recovery, not before the middle of 2013. If we take as an example the kitchen market, although more than two thirds of the sales of kitchens are still conveyed by independent changes of consumers, in this period of crisis, because of the above-mentioned points, are directed to the purchase of products by format with a high degree of savings, such as large surfaces and mercatoni, which went from a turnout from 19% in 2011 to 23% in 2012. The downsizing of the market share of independents was the result of both a reduction in volumes and a reduction in the average price, which reflect the choices for limiting expenditures for the purchase / renewal of kitchen space.
