As a sponsor of the 10th edition of the International Design Award, Hettich and Rehau organize the world renowned event with the slogan "Take furniture to the next level". In the new edition of the contest, the two companies will look to students of schools and universities from all over the world, drawing in particular from faculties and courses of product design, architecture, interior architecture, art, wood technology and working. The new generation of design will be required to submit innovative ideas and concepts for furniture solutions of tomorrow, challenging each other in three interesting categories. Registration for the competition is on from now until March 15th, 2015. Participants will have to give free rein to their imagination, to abandon the conventional thought patterns and to outline design solutions intended for environments with a kitchen, an office, a living room and a bedroom. The lowest common denominator will be exceptionalness, innovation and orientation to the future. In addition to offering intelligent solutions from a technical and aesthetic point of view, projects must show a particular feature: the ability to resolve the future conflict between living and working spaces. For the participants in the International Design Award, rich prizes are up for grabs. On the one hand, the works will be judged by an international and independent jury composed of recognized experts in design; the top three finishers will win a prize of 2,000 euro each and a trip to Germany of several days. On the other hand, Hettich and Rehau will award a special business prize: to win for this category, a leading project that will take into account both the range of Hettich products, the specialists of hardware for furniture, both of solutions in polymeric materials badged Rehau. The prize will consist of a design workshop at the side of employees of both companies. Then, the public will express its opinion: all projects delivered will be published on the website of the International Design Award, and at that point it will be up to the audience of the internet to find out the best idea. The winner of the award of the audience will be awarded a voucher of his/her choice worth € 500.
