Also this year the event registered a significant consolidation in numbers and value: more than 8,000 companies were in fact visiting the exhibition interested in technology and design products presented by more than six hundred exhibitors distributed in the ten pavilions.
The high rate of internationality of the event was confirmed once again: 27% of the companies exhibiting at the fair came from 32 foreign countries, while 69% of the visitors came from Italy and 31% from abroad from 109 countries. Among these, Germany and China were the most represented countries, two markets in various capacities, international leaders in the production of furniture for different market segments. There was also a large influx from Central and Eastern European countries, with Russia and Ukraine in the lead; there was also a strong increase from North Africa and the countries of the Middle and Far East, and Iran in particular.

Also this year in Pordenone many of the major top players of components and accessories, with their innovative solutions, original proposals, ideas and technologies. But Sicam is also home to many small and medium Italian companies of accessories and components, real excellence of Made in Italy that find in Pordenone an interesting showcase to present themselves to the international furniture industry and activate new collaborations.
Once again this year, four days of trouble-free business, thanks to the efficiency of the trade fair organisation, which has been meticulously organised as always.
The indicator that most of all certifies the value that the industry recognizes to Sicam is the rate of confirmation of participation of exhibiting companies from around the world: “This year was 93%, with companies of the highest level - said Carlo Giobbi, organizer of Sicam - in Pordenone always prevails the quality of attendance and exposure, which is the direct reason for the quality and high rate of international participation from the demand side.
Sicam: materials and technologies for the international furniture industry
In October every year Sicam becomes a source of inspiration for the international furniture industry: key players, designers, interior designers and professionals come to discover new products and learn about innovative materials that can meet the growing needs of the market.
The research on materials at industrial level aims today to propose a new product, more flexible, safe, efficient, easy to maintain and above all sustainable.
Another fundamental element in the products presented at Sicam is design, the continuous search for beauty combined with functionality. Design is becoming an increasingly important factor, essential for developing a new generation of products that, in the name of aesthetic pleasantness, at the same time respond to the dictates of the most advanced circular economy: efficiency, less use of energy in production, use of sustainable materials and recyclability.
The next edition of Sicam will also be held in Pordenone from 13 to 16 October 2020.
