Acimall: woodworking technology
The first half of 2013 was not easy even for the field of information technology for the processing of wood and its derivatives. According to calculations of the Office of Acimall studies - the industrial association representing the industries of the sector - the January-June period was difficult for the exports of the Old Continent. Starting from Germany, which remains at the top (see table below), but it marks a substantial drop in sales over its borders (less than 14.81 per cent compared to the same period 2012), confirming the negative trend in the first quarter of the year. A little 'better than Italy, but remained in negative area, reduced to a few percent contraction in the first three months of this year.
Asian exports (China and Taiwan) are modeled on the figure for the first half of 2012, a situation that still allows them to get closer to the main European competitor countries, while exports to the United States (more than 8.36 per cent) and Austria (plus 1 , 54 per cent) remain essentially directed towards the local markets.

Food for thought
But how will the major exporting countries in the most important target markets? Following a few remarks on the competition in major world markets for the import of machinery for woodworking.
From the United States, which once again confirms the first market in the world, with a positive trend that involves all the supplying countries, including Italy. Massive, as always, the presence of the machines produced in Asia, while European competition once again sees Germany in a position of leadership.

In Russia, Germany to earn the palm of first exporting country, a position that is positively influenced by the provision of large-scale facilities for the production of panels. Italy also recorded good performances in this country, although a slight decrease compared to 2012; marginal share of world exports for the other players.

Competition is particularly fierce in China, where there are all the major countries manufacturers on the market. Germany is the biggest exporter, with more than 60 million euro in the first half of 2013, followed by Taiwan (40 million) and Italy (a little less than 30 million euro).
Are Germany and Italy to divide the most important piece of imports of woodworking technology in Brazil, mainly due to effective partnerships with local retailers and, in some cases, substantial direct investments.
In Europe, Germany and France are the most important import markets, to note the presence of technology “Made in China“ just in Germany, a growing phenomenon.

The “virtuous countries“
The analysis conducted by the studies on data Acimall of world trade to delineate a sort of ranking of the “virtuous countries“, ie those markets in the second quarter of 2013 have invested more in technology imports for wood (they are consider the supplies from Germany, Italy, China, Austria and the United States, the data for Taiwan are not available), a sign of a productive situation that - despite all the attention the case - is positive.

Also in this case the first places the United States, with a growth rate of imports of close to 15 percentage points over the period April-June 2012. Also interesting are the changes in Canada (over 22 percent) and the UK (plus 7.2 percent), a country that a few months ago is consolidating a structural recovery. The growth in North America is completed from Mexico (over 27 percent).

In positions of reinforcement, and the absolute values ??of decidedly modest, Lithuania EUR 8.6 million in the second quarter of 2013, well over 134,45 percent compared to the period from April to June 2012), Serbia (5.3 million, more 48.9 per cent) and Paraguay (one million euro plus 41 per cent).
Among the destinations indicated by a minus sign, then a decrease in the purchase of technologies from major producing countries, include Brazil (26 million euro in the second quarter of 2013, less than 68 per cent on the same period 2012) and India (15.4 million, less than 31 percent), a reality that - let's not forget - they have a very positive recent past.

In Europe, France lost positions (€ 56 million in April-June 2013, less than 8.7 percent compared to the second quarter of 2012), Belgium (27.5 million, less than 22 per cent) and Switzerland (26.9 million, less than 7.3 percent), the market now “mature“.
Australia and Thailand show declines next thirty percentage points, which are promoted through the results not very comforting reality as the Czech Republic, Hungary and Greece.
