On the other hand, the portal aims to provide a valid information service focused on products, projects, events and fairs and everything that revolves around the world of components, semi-finished products and accessories for the furniture industry.

In the companies section there is an overview of the manufacturers registered on our portal, divided by product category, where you can contact us for any request. Our portal also has a special catalogues section to allow professionals and operators in the sector to view in a practical way all the catalogues relating to the various products (furniture hardware, upholstery materials, furniture paints, etc.). In addition, to allow easy consultation of the products, our portal has reserved a product section, organized by categories, where you can find out about the technical characteristics, materials and functionality of each product. The video section, on the other hand, presents numerous video interviews given by professionals and manufacturers that report news, insights and informative content on the best technologies in the sector.

Schattdecor Group: a 2015 record sales

For more than 30 years, Schattdecor has provided leading woodworking and furniture companies with printed decorative papers, finishing foils, and melamine film. The Thansau-based decorative printing company closed the 2015 fiscal year with annual sales of over 600 million euros, breaking the record mark set only one year ago. At a total of 14 locations, the Schattdecor Group processed more than two billion square meters of paper in the previous year, thus affirming its position as the world market leader.

Market Development While sales in central Europe and North America remained rather stable in the previous fiscal year, the Schattdecor Group was able to record positive market trends in Asia and the Pacific, southern and eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South America. “The Asian market has become one of our most important drivers of growth. - saied Roland Auer, Manager of Sales and Marketing, Schattdecor AG. For this reason, we have now taken the next step. We will be commissioning two new printing presses in China in order to meet the demands of the Chinese market without losing sight of our quality principles: ‘Made by Schattdecor.’”

Investments Investment projects in the previous fiscal year consisted of the completion of a new plant in Tyumen, Russia, expansion of the finishing foil capacities in Głuchołazy, Poland, and the expansion of the waterproofing capacities in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil. For 2016, investment projects in the amount of 44 million euros are planned.

Industrial Digital Printing With its focus on the decor industry, Schattdecor is planning to get digital printing ready for the market. The Palis 2250 single-pass ink-jet printing press, which was developed specifically for this purpose, is currently being installed in the main plant in Thansau. By the end of this year, it will be digitally printing decorative paper in widths of up to 2,250 millimeters with pigments identical to gravure printing – and at speeds of up to 150 meters per minute. Schattdecor’s intention is for this installation to be a true alternative to the gravure printing process.

New Management in Poland and Russia Mirosław Wolski is now the new CEO of Schattdecor Poland. Previously, Wolski was responsible for the areas of production and technology at the Polish Schattdecor subsidiary. Tomasz Achrem and Jerzy Szejwian were new appointments to the board. In Russia, Jens Palmen has taken on the top supervisory role as general director. The other members of management are Vladimir Denisov and Dmitrij Kilimnik, who oversaw the construction project in Tyumen over the past three years.
