On the other hand, the portal aims to provide a valid information service focused on products, projects, events and fairs and everything that revolves around the world of components, semi-finished products and accessories for the furniture industry.

Kitchen is always the soul of the house

For a long time for Italian people the kitchen is the soul of the house, the favoured space for the conviviality. They spend at least three hours a day because they don’t only cook and eat, but they share there pleasant moments with family and friends. The last tendencies of furnishing consider the kitchen a space in continuous evolution; particularly they are increasing more and more kitchens in close connection with the living room in order to link the work area of the kitchen with the component tied up to the conviviality and the conversation. Concerning this intention it is interesting the market investigation realised by Houzz, the online world leader base in home furnishing. Houzz interviewed a sample of homeowners who are renewing or who are going  to renew their kitchens soon in order to understand the role that it occupies inside their residence. For interviewed people the functions of the kitchen environment are: to cook (98%), to eat (75%), to socialize (42%) and to entertain (40%).   Among the most important characteristics that the kitchen must have, we find the simplicity in the organization (58%) or in the cleaning (51%), the possibility to entertain the whole family (30%), the practicality of cooking (25%) and the convenience in eating (24%) and to receive guests (24%); while among the changes which are realised there are the new disposition of furniture and equipment (70%), the opening toward other rooms (43%) and the amplification of the place (52%). The most renewed elements in the kitchen are the work area (68%), the appliances (66%) and the lighting (60%). For the remaking of their own kitchens, 72% of the Italian people prefer to receive the support of a professional in order to optimise the spaces to the best. According to the research conducted by Houzz, budgets of expense destined to the renovation of the kitchen are rather high: 35% it allocates from 5.000 € to 10.000 €, 24% from 2.500 € to 5.000 € and 21% less than 2.500 €. As it regards the aesthetics, 47% it declares that the priority is in the kitchen design which should perfectly integrate with the design of the rest of the house, while 44% it desires abundant natural light. Besides, comparing the styles of the “old“ kitchens with the restructured ones, it is interesting to see how the interest increased towards the design.
